Stay calm, as I have known many women to have carried high, until a few days before birth, although on a first birth the head usually drops about two weeks before birth. Therefore, you can expect to be late maybe even two weeks. Sometimes the baby is not in the perfect position with his head, like if he is posterior (his back along your back with stomach in front). In this case he will be higher as his head is presenting with a wider diameter. You can help him turn right side up by lying on your side with your top knee as flexed as possible and your stomach lying on the bed, and your bottom leg straight and as much back as possible. Alternate sides, and also be on hands and knees a lot. Also belly-dance, swim, and take stairs two at a time. Avoid deep squatting as this could prevent the baby from engaging in the right position. Good luck, Ilana
