I have birthed several women in the past whose stitches had opened up in the previous birth and there were no problems. I had transferred a women who wanted a homebirth a few months ago to the hospital because she decided she wanted an epidural. She ended up with an epidural and then fetal distress and forceps and a big episiotomy which opened up on day 2-3. I couldn't believe it when I saw it as it looked horrible, all open. In two weeks it was totally healed and she feels fine with it. You may have a slight esthetic problem, but you probably won't have any functional problem. Sometimes it is much better than stithing that is too tight and heals poorly which causes a lot of pain with sex. Just use the epi-no next time and refuse an episiotomy or avoid hospital dangers by having a homebirth. You may be a little more open which will make your birth easier next time. It shouldn't cause any sexual problems. Don't restitch it, even if you find a doctor who agrees ( and don't go privately because then money is the motive). You will heal fine.
