Hi
When my kids go to the beach (not as often as they do in Israel :-() I still don't shampoo, though I scrub their hair with the water. The only time we insist on shampoo is after they've had their hair cut or if they seem uncomfortable and itchi. I forgot to mention that they almost always wet their hair. My kids are a bit older (6 and 4) so they have passed the stage where they are afraid of getting their eyes wet. When my first was a baby, I shampood his hair everyday, not knowing any better ;-). He went to swimming lessons from the age of 6 months and learned there to put his head under water, so it wasn't a problem. When my dd was born, she developed exzema problems. That is when I stopped using any detergents, including shampoo. It took her a long time to accept water in her eyes, but since there was no shampoo to wash off, I let her dictate the pace. My baby, on the other hand, JUST LOVES water - in his eyes, on his face, anywhere!!! Not sure if it is because he was born in water, or because we named him Yosui-warm water, but that's just him! O.K. sorry, more than you asked for.. Feel free to email me (my email is attached here) Manty
