Ground beef is good for up to 3 months frozen in a standard US refrigerator freezer. If it is hard frozen below 0 degrees farenheit, it will probably still be OK for up to a year as long as it has never been close to thawing. Some microbes will still reproduce even at those very low temperatures, admittedly slowly, but still reproduce so freezing doesn't keep the meat OK indefinitely. Of course freezing for a long time will result in freezer burn, and the meat may not taste good even though it will not make you sick.
